Clear Static
O disco de estréia dessa banda californiana (nas lojas do hemisfério norte em maio) tem tocado bastante aqui em casa. Muitos grupos novos lançam ótimos singles, mas é quando eu vejo um álbum bom do início ao fim que eu me arrisco a bancar a aposta.
O Clear Static põe uma pitada de guitarras barulhentas numa receita new romantic que remete ao pop perfeito de alguns luminares dos anos 80, principalmente o Duran Duran. O fato do vocalista ter o timbre semelhante a Simon Le Bon, e o DD os ter convidado para abrir alguns shows de sua última turnê, não ajuda a afastar esse parentesco (mimetismo?).
Tô nem aí. São lindas melodias, refrões ganchudos, romantismo deslavado... pop rock de primeira. Lançaram um single, Make Up Sex, dançante e divertido. Dancing with Strangers é uma balada triste pra dançar de rosto colado e se apaixonar.
Nem consigo escolher qual música colocar aqui. Vai no uni-duni-tê.
